Textiles
Engaging in a textile practice that seamlessly melds research and creative thinking, my work draws from a dual cultural perspective where British values intertwine with the rich tapestry of Southeast Asia. Craft and artistry emerge as potent antidotes to the aesthetics of global shift, serving as catalysts for positive change.
As both my practice and Ph.D. journey evolve, a dedicated shift toward more sustainable goals and initiatives takes centre stage, emphasising the promotion of social justice in the face of the current global crisis. My exploration spans a spectrum of techniques—printed, embroidered, knit, woven, 3D printed, laser engraved, or cut surfaces—all transcending disciplines within art, fashion design, and textiles.
The realm of craft is expanding exponentially throughout this Ph.D., prompting an exciting venture into materials such as glass, metal, and wood. I invite you to reach out for collaborative opportunities, as positive collaborations are not just welcomed but eagerly anticipated in this dynamic exploration of the intersection of culture, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
